Happy Earth Day

Earth Day comes around each April, but we need to be creative every day of every year.  We have taken important steps toward conservation, and want to share them with you. We also want your input and support as we continue to look for more innovative ways to be Earth friendly.

Our Initiatives

Several steps we’ve taken over the years may have been obvious to you, while others less obvious. A few years ago, we stopped delivering plastic pizza cutters with all of our pizzas.  We recognized that many of our customers probably had a metal cutter in their kitchen, as well as a drawer full of our plastic cutters!

Recently, in conjunction with Idaho Power, all of our restaurants and our office changed out old lighting fixtures and changed to higher efficiency fluorescent bulbs.  We are thankful for Idaho Power’s concern with efficiency and believe that this program will cut down on our electrical usage, especially during the peak periods of summer heat waves.

We are also determined to cut down on unnecessary use of paper products.  While pizza boxes are essential to your delivery and carryout pizzas, we strive to minimize the use of boxes for leftovers, opting for more “friendly” packaging.  What does this mean for you? Next time, ask for aluminum foil instead of a box. It helps to keep moisture in the pizza, which means better tasting pizza when you reheat it in the oven and less waste.
